Stake Your Claim During Gold Rush Week

Patronizing local establishments makes a positive impact on Golden. Not only does it help boost the local economy, it also helps to employ other residents, reduces negative environmental impacts from shipping products, and gives you the opportunity to support local entrepreneurs. Golden has hundreds of businesses to fulfill your every need, from gift shops to accountants to pet spas to award-winning restaurants and everything in between. Stake your claim in Golden by shopping locally and supporting the community to ensure that it stays the vibrant town that we all know and love.

During August, Good To Be Golden will highlight Golden businesses in our Golden’s Got It series. You’ll be able to find tidbits and photos about the wide variety of businesses in Golden on our Facebook page, our Instagram account, and on our website. We hope you’ll take some time to explore and rediscover Golden and all it offers.

How big will your impact be? Accept the challenge to only buy local during Gold Rush Week: August 24th through August 28th. Connect with your neighbors while encouraging them to shop local…you may find that some of them are the small business owners you’re helping to support.

Find what you need at a local store or service, and show off your finds on social media and tag us in your posts!

Good To Be Golden is also hosting two activities during the month of August, ending with Gold Rush Week (August 24-28).

  • Golden Nugget Treasure Hunt – Win one of three Golden Grand Prizes! Keep an eye out for your Golden Nugget Treasure Map in your water bill, in the August issue of the Informer, and on our website. As you collect stickers for your Golden Nugget Treasure Map, we encourage you to look around and visit a store or two that you’ve never been in before.
  • Gold Rush Week Gift Card Hunt – Join in this social media scavenger hunt! Each weekday from August 24th through the 28th, we’ll be hiding four gift cards to local businesses and posting clues on Good To Be Golden and Visit Golden’s social media profiles (2 per account). Follow the social media accounts of Good To Be Golden (@GoodToBeGoldenCO on Facebook and Instagram) and Visit Golden (@VisitGoldenCO on Facebook and Instagram) so that you don’t miss any announcements.

A community can only thrive with the help of its residents. Help us show small businesses that they matter to Golden residents!

When you shop locally in August, tag us in your photos (@GoodToBeGoldenCO or #GoodToBeGoldenCO) for a chance to be featured in our social feeds.

Happy shopping, Golden!
