Local Spotlight: Diane Tiberi’s Favorite Places to Shop in Golden, CO
Diane Tiberi has been a Golden resident for the past 25 years. She moved here from New York City to enjoy the blue skies and the mountains. “I live right by Clear Creek, so moving to Golden was such an amazing change for me. I still never take for granted living here and everything that Golden has to offer,” says Diane.
Her favorite thing about living in Golden is the convenience and ease of living in a small town, where she knows so many people and the shop and restaurant owners are familiar to her. “I always choose to shop locally first. I like supporting people who I know and who have made the commitment to being part of our community. Most of the shop owners are local too, so I know that by shopping here, we are in a mutually beneficial relationship.”
We asked Diane to share some of her favorite places to patronize for this week’s blog post.
There is no reason to go anywhere else – they’ll order anything that they are not currently carrying. They have a great selection of beer and wine and always make great recommendations on spirits. Their prices are great and comparable to the big box type stores.
They really have almost anything I need – batteries, tape, bird feed, and tapers. The upstairs is a treasure trove of kitchen products, and I feel like most people don’t know about the upstairs and how varied their merchandise is. I bought an adorable apron/oven mitt set here many years ago that I still love. I always go here first when I am doing a home project. Everyone in there is so helpful and they will give you great pro tips – they love doing it and they’re always super helpful. There are things I have found in Meyer’s that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.
Their peanut butter chocolate ice cream by the pint is ADDICTIVE.
I have to eat the Tofu Eggplant at least once a week.
Baby Doe’s Clothing, Artisan Jewelry & Fine Craft
Whenever I’m looking for an outfit that is special or something I couldn’t find other places, I go to Baby Doe’s. The clothes are fun, and the things I have bought there are always the favorites in my closet and the ones that I get the most compliments on when I wear them.
Best lunch for under $10! The Caesar salad dressing is amazing, and the pizza makes me feel like I’m back in NYC.
